If you over-esteem talented individuals, people will become overly competitive.
If you overvalue possessions, people will begin to steal.
Do not display your treasures or people will become envious.
The Master leads by emptying people’s minds, filling their bellies,
weakening their ambitions, and making them become strong.
Preferring simplicity and freedom from desires, avoiding the pitfalls of knowledge and wrong action.
For those who practise not-doing, everything will fall into place.

Thank you for this post. I have seen these first hand. How someone uses his authority to the betterment of his staff is markedly different than those who do not. I see this as a symbiotic relationship. The supervisor is responsible to his workers and if he behaves in a responsible way then his workers will do so accordingly. Both are needed for survival of the organization.
Thanks,
